GENERAL DESCRIPTION

"Hang Around Victor Day Celebration 2025"
is a family-fun community (rain or shine) event that includes, but is not limited to,
food & beverage vendors, games with prizes, a bounce house, volunteer groups, community vendors,
fundraisers & recruitment, along with various other programs, events & activities hosted by
Pinnacle Athletic Campus & Events Center

"Hang Around Victor Day" events, in years past, were wildly popular in the Victor community!
They were coordinated & facilitated by the Victor Chamber of Commerce, led by its President, Susan Stehling,
between the years of 1977 and 2004, along with a small group of dedicated volunteers.
Thus, as an important part of this year's event, Sue will be recognized as the
"Legacy Guest of Honor", with the general theme being, "CELEBRATE VOLUNTEERISM".
For this reason, and in reflection of past years' events, all local not-for-profit, charitable organizations,
churches and/or local initiatives that are primarily facilitated by volunteers, will get their spaces (9' x 18') for FREE.

THE BACK STORY ON THIS YEAR'S EVENT

In 2004, the then President of the Victor Chamber of Commerce, Sue Stehling, teamed up with Village of Victor
resident, Randy Shea, to coordinate the annual "Hang Around Victor Day" event, whereby it is estimated that
more than 10,000 visitors from Victor & the surrounding areas attended. After the Victor Chamber of Commerce
and the event were discontinued in 2021, Sue expressed her sadness to Randy & although it was not likely, they
discussed the possibility of getting it started again, should the opportunity present itself. Well, lo & behold, in June
of 2025, after Randy signed up Pinnacle Athletic Campus & Events Center for some advertising opportunities
with Destination Victor NY, the General Manager of Pinnacle Athletic Campus & Events Center, Ethan Lincoln,
mentioned hosting an event similar to "Hang Around Victor Day" at their facility to help bring awareness of their
location & all they have to offer the Victor community. Randy seized the opportunity to let Ethan know of his
involvement in the past events & his discussions with Sue about getting it going again. A week later, Ethan called
Randy to let him know that the Owners would like to arrange a meeting to discuss it. Randy called Sue & set-up
a time when they could all meet. They met on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. The discussion went well. After a couple
more meetings, Randy & Ethan formalized the terms for Randy to be the Lead Coordinator on July 10, 2025. 

At the time of writing this, it is 9:42 p.m. on Sunday, July 13, 2025. There are only 54 days until the event.
Needless to say, we have a great deal of work to do to make this event a fun & meaningful success.
So, we appeal to Victor's many wonderful community volunteers with this, a CALL TO ACTION . . . 
WE NEED YOUR HELP & SUPPORT!

We're only expecting 2,000 to 4,000 visitors to the event; which, by historic measure, would not be as
well attended as past events of its kind. Even so, for us, the greater measure of success will be in our
endeavor to celebrate our local volunteers. Let's face it, volunteerism is down & though it's likely not the
only reason, the fact that volunteers aren't being recognized & appreciated to the extent they should be
for their many selfless contributions, is probably at least part of the reason. So, for this, and other
reasons, we've decided CELEBRATING VOLUNTEERISM should be this year's theme.

Although there are likely many others deserving of recognition & appreciation, for those who know Sue Stehling,
there is not likely anyone in our community living today that is more deserving of our admiration & apprecation. Her
many selfless contributions over the years toward making Victor a great "Destination" to visit, live, work, shop and
invest, should not be forgotten. Thus, as part of this year's event, themed "CELEBRATE VOLUNTEERISM" . . .
Sue is to be honored as recipient of an award for being the "Legacy Guest of Honor".

ACKNOWLEDGING & APPRECIATING THE EVENT HOST
This event would not be possible were it not for the generous offer of Owners/Management
of Pinnacle Athletic Campus & Events Center to serve as host. As a way of thanking
them for helping to make Victor an even better "Destination" to visit, live, work, shop
and invest is by taking a tour of their beautiful facility before, during or after the event.
