Welcome Aboard!
The Friends of the Railroad, Inc., established in 2008,
is a 501(c)3 non-profit orgranization in Victor, NY.
Our mission is the preservation of and education about
local railroads, the history, the people, facilities
and equipment in and around Victor, NY.
Since 2008, Friends of the Railroad has sponsored 56
family-fun train excursions with Finger Lakes Railway,
most all have SOLD OUT!
Come enjoy riding real railroad trains
throughout the year!

The Victor-Farmington Food Cupboard is
an organization that provides food to
over 600 families in Ontario County.
We are part of the Foodlink network
(www.foodlinkny.org)
and follow their guidelines for food safety.
We have signed up to be part of the
Healthy Pantry Initiative and have
committed to ensuring that our customers have
consistent access to fresh fruits and vegetables
so that we are part of the road
back to health for families and seniors.

The vision of Victor Hiking Trails is:
to create and maintain foot trails and multi-use
paths in the Town of Victor; to promote a meaningful relationship with nature; to promote individual
responsibility for protecting the environment;
to provide recreational activity through walking,
biking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing;
to provide education to the public through nature interpretation, historical information and proper use
of trails; and, to promote good relationships with
all people (landowners, government officials,
adjacent townships, and trail users).
The mission of Victor Hiking Trails is:
building and maintaining trails of various terrain,
landforms, views and habitats for various plant
and animal species; trails in various geographic
sections of the Town of Victor with access by as
many residents as possible; trails of various
lengths and difficulties; and, trails for foot traffic
and paths for multi-use, including bikes.

Members are people who enjoy nature,
care about the land, and want to improve Victor.
Your membership dollars help fund the creation, improvement and maintenance of our 70+ mile
system of trails, bridges, boardwalks, benches
and signs, providing a wide variety of outdoor
recreational and educational opportunities
for Victor and surrounding communities!
Some Victor Hiking Trails activities include:
Hikes
2nd Saturday each month
National Trails Day Special
Educational "Hikes"
Monthly, usually on a Sunday afternoon
Walks with Victor-Farmington Library Walkers
Every Wednesday @ 9:15 a.m.
Gather at the Victor-Farmington Library

3rd Thursday each month
6:30 p.m. @ Victor Town Hall
Maintenance
Usually Monday & Wednesday evenings
and Friday mornings each week
All are welcome and appreciated!
We use our own power tools & hand tools
of our own or those of volunteers;
as well as,
gloves & seeing/hearing protection
which are advised and available. |

As of our October 8, 2024 update, we have only contacted about 40 businesses and organizations directly,
resulting in just over 20 listings thus far. Our goal by this time next year is to have the most accurate
and comprehensive destinations directory in and for Victor, NY . . . and this is only the beginning!
